About the class Discover the Stillpoint
What is meditation?
In the west we think of meditation as a variety of techniques with which to achieve inner peace and a general sense of well being.
These techniques include concentration on:
- consistent or persistent sound (mantras, soft music, drumming)
- something visual (mandala, candle, crop circle)
- something physical (our own body, breath)
Or we employ the use of guided meditations facilitated by a person, CD or other recorded method.
We have been taught or perceive that thought itself is the problem. Perhaps this is not so.
What is meditation really?
It is a state of peaceful awareness discovered through direct experience. It is innate in everyone, and cannot be lost, or forgotten once known.
How do I discover this inner stillness?
